Most of us take for granted the freedom to come and go as we please. But for people with limited mobility, everyday life is an obstacle course. A few steps, a narrow doorway or a cramped corridor can cut them off from their community, isolate them from their neighbors, strand them inside their own house. Without help, many could be marginalized or even institutionalized, excluded from activities beyond their front step, or beyond reach inside their own house. With UCP’s help, they can participate in their community, share a richer family life and follow where their dreams lead them.
